Kenya Safari Packing Guide

If any leg is on a light aircraft, you are usually limited to 15kg in a soft bag with no rigid frame. Hard cases do not fit the luggage pods.
Mornings on game drives are genuinely cold, particularly in an open vehicle at 6am, and the middle of the day is hot. Pack layers: a fleece or light down, a windproof, and short sleeves underneath.
Neutral colours — khaki, olive, grey, brown. Avoid dark blue and black, which attract tsetse flies in some areas, and bright white, which shows dust immediately.
Bring a wide-brimmed hat, high-factor sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, any personal medication, and a small torch. Camps almost always launder daily, so three or four changes of clothing is plenty for two weeks.
For cameras: more memory than you expect, spare batteries, a dust cover, and a beanbag or rolled fleece to steady a long lens on a vehicle door.
Leave the drone at home — they are not permitted in Kenyan parks without specific authorisation.
