Naboisho Conservancy
Rolling grassland and acacia woodland east of the reserve, known for very high lion density and excellent guiding.
Suggested stay
3 nights
Best months
Good all year
Getting there
Light aircraft to Ol Seki or Naboisho airstrip.
Naboisho has one of the highest lion densities in Africa and a genuinely low bed count for its size. Camps here tend to attract guides who want to work slowly — tracking on foot, spending an hour with one pride rather than ticking off a list.
It suits travellers on a second or third safari, and anyone who would rather understand a landscape than photograph everything in it.
The terrain is more varied than the open reserve, with valleys and thicker bush that reward patience.
Good to know
- Strong choice if walking and night drives matter to you.
- Fly-in is the sensible way to arrive; the road transfer is long.
- Combines well with Naivasha or Amboseli on a longer route.
