Olare Motorogi Conservancy

A small, high-end conservancy directly bordering the reserve, with some of the lowest guest-to-land ratios in the Mara.

Suggested stay

3 nights

Best months

Good all year

Getting there

Light aircraft to Olare Orok or Ol Kiombo airstrip.

Olare Motorogi is compact and deliberately under-occupied. Its position on the reserve boundary means you can be in the national reserve within minutes when the herds arrive, then retreat into private land for quiet afternoons.

Camps here sit at the upper end of the market. What you pay for is space, guiding and the near-absence of other vehicles at a sighting.

If your budget stretches to it and privacy is the priority, this is usually where I point people first.

Good to know

  • Expect premium nightly rates rather than mid-range.
  • Excellent for photographers who want unobstructed positioning.
  • Bed availability is very limited in July to October.
